I think the dying music sounds really good.  It has a different melody than the Super Mario World dying song, and the instruments are appropriate.  The length also appears to match that of the original, which means it should work as a replacement.  I will have to try it in the actual game when I get a chance, but I doubt I'll find any problem here.
Since you ended up submitting through the mailing list, we have to confirm the licensing before we can use it.  We normally use CC-BY-SA 4.0 unless something else works better.  We can also use a "special" license and have the rights to use it only granted to Secret Chronicles if you want.  Please confirm which license works for you and that you are fine with us using the song.
Also, how would you like to be credited (what name and/or user id) in the credits and in the text file accompanying this song?  Likewise, what email address would you like us to store with this?  The change tracking system uses emails to track authorship, and we also maintain a contact list for authors.
You had said you had trouble with the forums.  If you can confirm which forum you tried to use and what issue you had, we'd be happy to try and help fix it.  We discuss a lot of useful information in the forums, and they are also useful for submitting some content (unless it is a very large file).
