Re: [tsc-devel] CALL FOR VOTE: land_1 music replacement

The reason why I went ahead and suggested we come to agreement on things like the piano (or depth of the song) was because we have been holding artists firmly to the style guide. We came very close to telling Sydney to remove the eyes on his hedge. We agreed we would use the voting process to resolve this disagreement.
Similarly, music should be held to some sort of standards. I agree it's not a "big deal" to have or not have the piano; I just think we should look for certain elements in songs, make decisions, and request changes where possible, in order to be consistent with our artistic style guidelines. What we really need is to get some trained musicians reviewing these songs; for the time being we just have to go off what we are able to judge at the moment.
The purpose of the second vote was to allow more versatile options in how we deal with this.
I realize some of us have very different views on this, which is what led Quintus to request a vote in the first place. If anyone else feels we don't need the second vote, feel free to share your thoughts. All views can be beneficial to the process.

Quintus's proposed vote seemed to imply a permanent decision without further changes. People usually do not reverse such decisions, either.
I respect your general views on the piano, but if we are going to hold a vote, I think we should look at all options. I also realize it seems like a lot of decisions for a small component in a song, but if we aren't going to make a decision based on all options, we should just accept the music as-is and be done with it. This, however, defeats the purpose of critiquing songs or artwork.

I think the second vote's unnecessary. Everything can be changed after
release 2.0, implicitly. All this vote does is, if the second choice
is made, induce an automatic vote afterwards, when we should just
bring the subject up if it actually matters to us.
