[tsc-devel] TSC build failures due to sourceforge.net being unavailable

Quintus | Tue, 02 Jun 2015 19:06:10 UTC

Hi everyone,

if you try to build TSC from source currently you are likely to
experience issues, because the build process involves downloading and
building CEGUI 0.7.9. However, CEGUI is hosted at SourceForge, and
SourceForge appears to be down currently, probably due to DDoS as a
result of the treatment of The Gimp.

You can mitigate this problem by reverting commit

  8539d574595f79fbbbdafff8eb3d05a79247c4d2

in your local git copy by utilizing “$ git revert”. Please do NOT push
this change onto the remote, though, because doing so will cause distro
maintainers headaches as they do not permit downloading from anywhere
else than the primary SourceForge URLs. You may use “$ git reset” to
undo that action again before you push.

I have filed an issue with CEGUI to ask them if they want to move off
SourceForge[1].

Valete,
Quintus
