If I need to make UML diagrams manually, I use an oldschool paper and
pencil. I have not yet found an OSS program that makes the creation of
these easy. If needed, I can scan in the sheet of paper with the
diagram.
This is what I did when I coded a space shooter some years ago, except that I used OpenOffice Draw rather than paper and pencil. A friend of mine said, "Oh, there are tools that will automatically generate those from your code - there's no need to do that!" Thus I figured I'd better find one of these tools.
These graphs are not full UML diagrams, though,
but only inheritance and component diagrams.
It doesn't have to be UML as long as it shows what objects contain what objects and call methods on other objects graphically. I also really need to be able to drag and drop graphical elements, though if it works with dot, I assume this will handle that.
