we need to fix the schedule of the General Discussion so everybody knows
what we are up to. From the suggestions that have been made, I propose
the following schedule:

The above is the complete list of all topics suggested. There have only
been 3 people who actually suggested topics — datahead, lambda, and me
—, which I still find somewhat sad. But maybe datahead’s mass suggestion
post has already covered everybodys needs... If you think an important
topic is missing from this list, suggest it now or never!

Take this list’s order with a grain of salt. The last GD has shown that
we tend to swap ordering on the fly when we deep into a topic that has
side connections to other topics. In this schedule, I think this danger
is especially inherent for the topics in block IV, which are all fairly
near to one another.

Likewise, I have tried to place the two breaks according to the amount
of discussion I expect, rather than on the mathematically correct
dividing places. Blocks I and II are a matter of half an hour in total
probably, so rather quickly done. Quickly enough to continue with the
software topics, where I expect a rather deep discussion as I have
noticed there are fairly contrary views on what to use for both
bugtracking and translation tools. I thus found it appropriate to
schedule a break after these two items.

Block IV is where I expect the vast majority of the GD to be spent. The
topics are, as explained, fairly near to one another, but I do think
that somewhere in-between them a second break should be scheduled. The
exact placement was somewhat random, so expect that it might be moved
somewhere else inside block IV.

The topics in block V are not really pressing ones, so if we come to the
conclusion we have discussed long enough already, we’ll leave them
out. I don’t believe them to be highly controversial either. Topic 12
has been decided towards CEGUI mostly, and topic 11 misses concrete
suggestions on alternatives. On the other hand, topic 11 is a wonderful
opportunity to submit your proposal as a document prior to the
discussion.

Be prepared that this discussion will take a long time. I remind
everybody that the last GD took 3 hours. Don’t expect this one to be
shorter. I have scheduled two 15-minute breaks for a reason.

ON VOTING SUGGESTIONS. For all of the above topics, we need to outline
the voting options available before the GD. In the GD, you can then
fight for your personal opinion and why one should vote A or B. I want
to formally announce all available voting options for all of the above
topics in one big voting announcement on 2015-03-25 so that the two-week
announcement phase of §5 VotR is honoured. It is absolutely okay to try
to convince everybody of your opinion after that date, but inclusion of
new voting options will not be possible. So:

            PLEASE MAKE VOTING SUGGESTIONS UNTIL 2015-03-25!

Again, no substanciated reasoning for the suggestion is required. Just
ensure the option is out there by that date. Keep your reasoning for the
GD itself, or post it prior to it if you have lengthy arguments.

Document submission deadline is on 2015-04-01 00:00 UTC. If you submit
documents later on, don’t expect them to be read. This deadline gives
everybody one week of time to crawl through what was submitted. I will
collect the documents and post them for online reference on the TSC
documents repository (including those that have already been posted).
