Yes, I agree with you in that. Ideally I would want to provide .deb
files for installing TSC as we have discussed before.

When we released 2.0.0, did we combine the Beta with a Feature Freeze? I
think we did, as this allows to concentrate on bug squashing. If we do
this again, then we shold not start the beta phase yet indeed.

But nothing stops us from providing an "alpha" release...! One could
also simply call them "development snapshot", but I think the term
"alpha" is okay. Once we freeze the features, we enter the beta phase,
and when we deem it reasonably stable, we'll issue the first RC. Is that
an acceptable approach?
