[tsc-devel] Future of Chessboard

Hi everyone,
I have mentioned it in IRC already and now repeat it here on the
mailinglist for everyone. I'd like to give up maintenance on Chessboard
for the moment so I can concentrate on TSC instead. I wouldn't do this
if I wouldn't see a usable replacement, but I do think with Mailman 3
there is one. Mailman has been completely rewritten with version 3 and
now has a pretty modern and usable interface. Convince yourself, here's
the archive of the Mailman3-users list:
https://lists.mailman3.org/archives/list/mailman-users@mailman3.org/
Posting via the web interface is possible, so you don't have to worry in
this regard. I'm sure, all the people who complained that Chessboard
looks old will appreciate this move.
I've discussed the topic with xet7 in IRC and we think that the move
should be done with the infrastructure upgrade, which I hope to get
through in the nearer future now. More information on this follows
later.
As a sidenote, I think that for now we should postpone the bugtracker
hosting question due to lack of manpower. I don't like GitHub, but it
does the job securely. That does not mean that I'm not going to come
back on the topic later, though.
Marvin
