Actually, after I have read my linked article myself in full now, the
problem is much worse. Yahoo!'s policy is a time bomb that unsubscribes
all people from mailinglists whose providers validate Yahoo!'s DMARC
record (which all big email providers do), because they reject the email
with the failed DMARC record. In mailinglist terminology, this is called
a "bounce", and as every good mailinglist software, Mailman forcibly
unsubscribes addresses from the mailinglists that often bounce.

I've blocked Yahoo! email addresses now in Mailman's configuration for
tsc-users and tsc-devel. Preventing the subscription is not possible it
appears, but Mailman won't let you post to any list. It will send you a
rejection notice instead in which I describe the problem briefly and
ask people to use a different email provider.
