First-Root now replied. They did the following:
- Increase RAM to 2048 MiB
- Increase Swap to 8 GiB
- Increase HDD space to 240 GiB
That is pretty good, and was even more than we requested O_o. I’d say
we’re good to go for selfhosting everything now. For sydney this means
that no further deletions on alexandria are necessary for the next time
:-)
They also replied that they need to think about the KVM thing, and only
would grant that one if there is some spare capacity without hindering
them giving them to paying customers (at least I interpret their answer
like this). This might also be a polite rejection, I can’t surmise that.
I will ask them to continue further discussion on the new group account
so that everyone of “the magic four” who have the magic server panel
access keys can read and reply. xet7, it would be nice if you took part
in the discussion then on their support tracker (see my email on the
private server ML) so that it’s not only me. I told them a few team
members would prefer a KVM machine due to more easy switching of distros
and easier upgrading of specific distros, but you might have some other
arguments other than “because KVM is the correct way to do it!” :-P
