Sure, but fixing bugs does take time that someone needs to invest. I
have fixed a number of bugs in the last days with the aim of getting TSC
2.1.0 in a releasable state. I don't want to open such a potentially
huge can of worms as removing an integral part of TSC now that the list
of remaining bugs is down to 8 entries.

I'm with you in this regard, but not for 2.1.0. Once that release is
out, we can remove the cache if no other problems arise.
