I know this is a silly question, but is libxml++2.6 installed? On the
first glance, I don't see a problem with our FindLibXmlPP cmake module¹.
Also, check if pkg-config is installed.

If this turns out to be too complicated, just leave it. 32-bit-only
systems are getting so rare that even Ubuntu recently thought of
abandoning support for it.
